Teen & Young Adult Development

I believe young people deserve to be uniquely themselves.

Kaleigh Cornelison, LMSW, LCSW

Hi, I’m Kaleigh, and I believe young people deserve to be uniquely themselves.

Unfortunately, there’s a lot that can get in the way of teens and young adults being able to grow and thrive in the ways they deserve. I know because I have been in the field of adolescent health and youth development for the past 12 years. During this time, I have worked with youth ages 14-24 on issues including relationships, identity, sexual health, life transitions, and so much more. I’ve also trained thousands of other youth-serving professionals how to do the same.

I know that with the right support, teens and young adults can tackle the issues that impact them the most. That’s why I use my vast experience working with youth to train other youth=serving professionals and support parents in better caring for the teens and young adults in their lives. By working together, we can address those things that get in the way of young people bringing their full unique, creative, passionate selves to the world.

About Me

I am a white, queer, cisgender, able-bodied woman who has a passion for working with adolescents and public speaking (I’m a theater kid at heart). I am passionately LGBTQ+ affirming and I think it’s important to have conversations about sexual health, identity, social media, and all the other topics that can make navigating adolescence tricky. When I’m not working with parents or youth-serving professionals, you can usually find me running or hiking around Southeast Michigan. I really value the outdoors so I spend as much time in nature as possible, even if it’s just hanging out in the backyard with my wife, daughter, and rescue dog, Calvin. My family also loves to travel so one day I hope to visit every National Park in the United States.
